BECOMING A MEMBER
THE AMERICAN THEATRE CONNECTION
As many of us are aware the theatre is a very difficult business for anyone involved but even more so for new and up and coming playwrights. The opportunities that were once present for having new works produced, have over time continually declined. Anyone who has produced new works can understand how disheartening it is to see a play receive great reviews and audience feedback yet never be produced again or be produced very little. For this reason we have created The American Theatre Connection (ATC).
WHAT YOU CAN DO: By becoming a Member of ATC, you will be committing to the exchange of information about new plays, and committing to reviewing the shows listed in the ATC catalogue of plays for possible inclusion into your season of shows whether as a reading or full production.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION: Membership is open to all theatre companies that have a proven track record and dedication to producing new works. There is no fee to become a member or for non-member companies to access the database of plays.
MEMBER BENEFITS: Receive honest, tested recommendations from other Members for new plays, including reviews from their production, comments from the director, information about the playwright, audience feedback and box office success.
INFORMATION DISTRIBUTION: Once a new work has been produced by a Member, it will be that Member’s responsibility to make an honest recommendation to other Members. There will be no requirement that other Members produce the recommended play, however, strong consideration should be given by other Members. Those interested Members will be provided a script for review."
